How to choose a payment provider for your gambling business
Choosing a payment provider is a decision for years. Changing an integration costs team time and risks outages, so it pays to compare offers against the same criteria agreed in advance.

Market and method coverage
Check whether the provider supports the countries and methods where you actually earn, and whether it does so locally or through intermediaries. Local settlement usually means higher approval.
Total cost per transaction
The fee is only part of the cost. Add fixed charges, the cost of refunds and chargebacks, currency margins, payout fees and settlement reserves.
Compare cost per approved transaction, not per attempt: a provider with a lower fee but weaker approval can cost more.
Compliance and licences
Verify the provider's authorisations in its jurisdiction, its policy towards the gambling sector and its anti-money-laundering procedures. Ask for documents, not just statements.
Technical stability and support
Ask about uptime, support response time, quality of API documentation and how outages are announced. Request references from operators of similar scale.
Contract flexibility
Look at the notice period, minimum volumes, reserves and the option to add a second provider. An exclusive contract limits your ability to optimise routes.
